I cannot rely on three years at Man Utd - Ruben Amorim

the United manager

The Manchester United coach - pictured getting support following May's Europa League final defeat - says he is pleased by the co-owner's continued commitment but underscored that what lies ahead is unknown in the sport.

The Red Devils' boss Ruben Amorim feels it's significant Sir Jim Ratcliffe went public with his future vision - but states nothing is guaranteed about the next day in soccer, much less three full years.

In an interview with a major publication in recent days, Sir Jim stated it might require the head coach three seasons to make a significant impact at United's home ground.

Arriving during a time when the manager's position has been receiving close inspection after a prolonged run of poor performances, the words contributed to reducing a portion of the current stress.

Yet, discussing prior to the hundredth encounter with old rivals the Reds at Anfield, the manager emphasized how the future is hard to predict in the beautiful game.

"It's certainly beneficial to listen to that but he tells me continuously, occasionally through communication post fixtures - but understand, I realize and the co-owner recognizes, that the sport isn't that predictable," he commented.

"The crucial element is the upcoming match. Regardless of investors, you cannot dictate the next day in football."

Chief executive the club executive has conceded it has required far longer for the manager to adapt to the Premier League following his move from his former club last November than any person expected.

The Red Devils have secured 10 victories in 34 league games with the Portuguese coach. They haven't managed consecutive league victories and didn't complete a round of league games in the current term above ninth position.

The concerning numbers are challenging confidence in Amorim among the Old Trafford faithful entering a stretch of fixtures their club has been awful in for the last couple of years.

Amorim said he doesn't sense the doubt inside the club at the club's Carrington training ground and is firm nothing equals the stress he applies to the squad - and in certain ways, he would choose Ratcliffe to refrain from seeking to bring a sense of calm because he fears the effect it might produce on the team.

"It's not just a thing that people talk about, I sense it daily," he stated. "It's certainly beneficial to hear it because it assists our supporters to grasp the administration realize it needs a while.

"However simultaneously, I don't like it because it creates an impression that we own time to solve problems. I don't want that impression in our team.

"The pressure I put on the players or upon myself is so much bigger [than that from outside]. In football, especially in big clubs, you have to show your value every matchday."
